Kelly Diaz Seitz

A Texas native, Kelly is originally from San Antonio, where her love of music and performing experiences began. Her very first job was with the San Antonio Symphony, where, at age 16, she was invited to fill in on Second Oboe. She was captivated with the experience and honored to serve as a substitute musician on occasion with them throughout her time in high school. Kelly attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a University Scholar and Artistic Scholarship recipient, and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Oboe Performance. She continued her studies at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she was awarded a University Graduate Scholarship and completed a Master of Music degree in Oboe Performance.

Kelly has performed with the Louisville Symphony Orchestra, The Dallas Chamber Symphony, the Dallas Winds, and The Shreveport Symphony, among others. She enjoys filling in with these and other orchestras and ensembles in the north Texas area each concert season. Kelly officially joined the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra as Second Oboe in 2023.

Some of Kelly’s most memorable and enjoyable experiences include traveling and performing in other parts of the world, including Spoleto, Italy, as a featured soloist at the Viva Vivaldi International Music Festival in Mexico City, Mexico, and Chicago, Illinois with the Dallas Winds for the 75th Annual Midwest Clinic.

In addition to performing, Kelly has been an oboe instructor in the Dallas area for more than a decade. She leads a thriving studio of dedicated students and treasures every opportunity to foster the empowering and transformative impact of music in their lives. Whether on stage or in the studio, Kelly is honored to share the beauty, discipline, and expressive power of music with others.
