Heather Suchodolski

Heather Suchodolski performs as Third Horn with the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Principal Horn of the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, and is a core member of DFW Brass. She also performs regularly with the Lake Lewisville Symphony Orchestra, as needed with The Dallas Opera Orchestra, and with other ensembles throughout North Texas.

An active performer, clinician, and educator, Heather is proud of her opportunities to present performances and masterclasses throughout the United States and abroad. Her international engagements include serving as an invited Guest Artist at the Universidade de Brasília, the 25th International Festival of Brazilian Colonial and Early Music, and the 2nd International Festival of Classical Music of Piracicaba, across multiple trips to South America. Heather also takes pride in streamlining efficiency of day-to-day operations as an on-site coordinator for the 44th Annual International Horn Symposium in Denton, TX.

Finding the collaborative aspects of music to be most enjoyable, Heather thinks that music similar to a team sport. Inspired by the impact that band and youth orchestra posed in her formative years, Heather shares her passion on through her performing and teaching. Heather’s students successfully auditioned for highly competitive All-Region Bands for Texas Music Educators Association Regions 2 and 31, as well as the Texas All-State Bands and Orchestras. Her middle and high school horn students are known to perform and compete on national and international stages, earning 3rd place at the 2019 Bands of America Grand Nationals (as well as an invitation to march in the 2021 Rose Bowl Parade), and as invited ensembles for the Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Convention in 2016, 2017, and 2019.

Heather holds degrees from the University of Arizona (BM) and University of North Texas (MM, DMA). In addition to her performing career, she currently helps students with their educational and career goals as a Program Specialist Success Coach with North Central Texas College. When not performing, rehearsing, practicing, or advising, Heather enjoys painting and searching for some damn good coffee, and answering the ubiquitous question about her last name; if you’re curious, it’s pronounced “such-a-doll-skee.”
