
Nancy Cook
Biography
Nancy Cook began her music career in the WFISD strings program playing cello and double bass, and in the band program playing trombone. She attended the University of Tennessee at Martin where she studied classical guitar. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a concentration in music at Midwestern State University and attended graduate school studying curriculum and instruction. Nancy worked in the public education system for 35 years. She was a classroom teacher for 25 years and an elementary math and science curriculum specialist for 10 years. She has taught double bass privately and continues to learn as well by studying with various teachers. She has played with the WFSO for over 50 years. Nancy currently serves on the WFSO Players Committee and is the Musicians’ Representative on the WFSO Board.
