Endowment Funds
The Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra is supported in part by several permanent endowment funds.
The Joe Prothro Endowment, honoring longtime benefactor and former WFSO Board President, Joe Prothro, was established in 2003 and provides support for general operations.
The Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra is the beneficiary of a new endowment fund:
The Aurora S. Bolin Memorial Endowment Fund, benefitting the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Inc.
Establishment & Purpose of Endowment
The Aurora S. Bolin Memorial Endowment Fund was established by Pat and Dan Bolin on December 1, 2016. It is housed at the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation.
The fund was established to honor their mother, Aurora S. Bolin, as well as to fund the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director/Conductor Podium. The endowment will ensure that the orchestra can secure a vibrant, professional and quality music director for years to come which is vital to the ongoing mission of the WFSO.
Funding of the Endowment
Pat and Dan Bolin initiated the funding process by donating $250,000 to the fund. They challenged the WFSO to secure an additional $250,000 over a three-year period, and would contribute an additional $500,000 if the goal was met. This additional challenge was met and exceeded in January 2018, thus creating a one-million-dollar endowment securing the artistic future of the orchestra.
